You closed, walked out back, and found a fenced rectangle of dirt. That's actually the good version. There's nothing to tear out, so you get to set the grade, the drainage, and the surfaces right the first time.
The Two Clocks

The HOA Clock
Your Landscape Deadline
Most new build communities give you 6 to 12 months from close to finish landscaping and get it approved. Miss it and the fines can repeat every month. We handle the submittal, so that clock stops being your problem.
The Calendar Clock
Booking the Crew
Summer is our busiest season and the calendar fills early. Design while you're in escrow and book at closing, and you'll break ground on your schedule instead of waiting for a slot.
How Much Does a New Build Backyard Cost in Las Vegas?
It depends on the lot. Square footage comes first, then base depth, any grade problem the builder left, whether a machine fits through the gate, and the pavers and drainage the design calls for. Here's how most new owners build, from the smallest step to the whole yard.
| Tier | Best for | What it covers |
|---|---|---|
| Starter | Buying time | Grade, drainage, and a clean gravel or decomposed granite yard. No dust and no HOA letter. |
| Core | First real yard | A paver patio off the back door on a proper base, a turf zone, and your first shade. |
| Full | Finishing it out | A bigger paver living area, turf, a shade structure, desert planting, and lighting, fence to fence. |
| Premium | All of it, once | Wide patio, covered shade, turf, fire pit, full planting, and a scaled plan sheet you approve before we dig. |
Build It in This Order

- Drainage and grade. Water has to run away from the house and the neighbor's wall. You'll never see this step, and it matters most.
- Shade. The shaded zone is the zone you'll use, so it drives the layout.
- Pavers and base. Patio, walkways, and pool surround, on a compacted base that stays flat.
- Planting last. Plants go in healthy and nothing gets trampled by the crew.
Why the Order Matters
Plant first and regrade later, and you'll pull out plants you just paid for. Pour a patio before the grade is set, and water pools at the back door.
What About the Water Rebate?
Do This First
The SNWA rebate pays to replace live grass, so a bare dirt backyard doesn't qualify. If your builder put in a front lawn, that grass might, as long as nobody touches it before SNWA's pre inspection.
When it qualifies, here's what the program pays for grass you convert to living, drought tolerant landscaping. The details are on our rebate page.

Rates Confirmed June 2026
- SNWA: $5 per square foot on the first 10,000 square feet, then $2.50.
- LVVWD bonus: $2 more per square foot for Las Vegas Valley Water District customers.
- City of Henderson: a flat $575 on top, minimum 400 square feet.
- Trees: $100 per qualifying living tree.
